Childhood WWII Pack John D Harvey Killed in Operation Eagle Claw Roanoke Va USMC

This pack is truly something different than what I usually sell and find. I purchased this from a gentleman from Roanoke, Va who ended up being the Childhood friend and neighbor to Sgt John D Harvey who was killed in Operation Eagle Claw.
When I bought the pack he made no mention of where it came from, then he stopped me and said, "that came from John Harvey, he was my friend growing up, and I bought that from his family at a yardsale." He said he was killed in Iran during the rescue to save the hostages".
I was going to keep this in my personal collection but it doesn't exactly fit into what I collect. I am hoping this goes to the right home. I believe the story he told me because it was not a selling enhancement, it was something in passing after money was exchanged.
Pack is missing the small straps and has UNIS markings on the back.
