    REVIEW
:  Over the past year, my collection of jewelry books has seen remarkable growth.  Between the generous contributions from designers and publishers and my thirst for jewelry knowledge (and weakness when it comes to shopping for books), I may soon need a storage unit just to house them all if the collection continues to increase at the current rate.
Case in point, I surf Amazon’s cyber-space bookshelves for great jewelry reads on a weekly basis, and a recent browse led me to the page for the upcoming book “21st-Century Jewellery Designers:  An Inspired  Style” by Juliet Weir-de la Rochefoucauld and published by Antique Collectors’ Club. My heart nearly stopped.
With such a striking jewel on the cover (A  Colored Diamond and Emerald Ring, by Wallace Chan from FD Gallery), it was hard not to get overly giddy about this book.  Three hundred sixty pages of lust-worthy jewels take the reader on a journey through the vast landscape of contemporary jewelry of the highest quality craftsmanship as well as the most original artistry.  “21st-Century Jewellery Designers” is a sensational survey of the leading contemporary jewelry designers from around the world, highlighting the unique aesthetics and inspiring backgrounds of each artist.
With her years of experience in the industry and keen eye for talent and style, Juliet Weir-de La Rochefoucauld has curated a selection of designers whose inimitable work not only exude unparalleled craftsmanship but limitless imagination and creativity as well.  Intimate interviews with each designer reveal the creative process behind their distinctive jewelry, from favorite materials to work with to how each incorporates his/her own personality into the jewelry.
Designers featured in the book include:  JAR (France); Kaoru Kay Akihara (Japan); Walid Akkad (Lebanon/France); Lorenz Baumer (France); Bhagat (India); Sevan Bicakçi (Turkey); Luz Camino (Spain); Wallace Chan (China); Edmond Chin for Etcetera (China); Lydia Courteille (France); Michele della Valle (Italy/Switzerland); Patrice Fabre (France); James de Givenchy for Taffin (USA); Vincente Gracia (Spain); Hemmerle (Germany); Anna Hu (USA/Taiwan); Michelle Ong for Carnet (China); Suzanne Syz (Switzerland); Nicholas Varney (USA); Stephen Webster (UK); Dickson Yewn for Yewn Heritage (China); Rami Abboud (Lebanon); Tomasz Donocik (UK); LaMouche (China/France); 10 Royale (France).
I, for one, simply cannot wait to pour over this stunning book chock full of the finest, one-of-a-kind contemporary jewelry designed by the 21st century’s most talented designers in the world today.

:  This remarkably illustrated coffee table book prominently displays more than 540 jewelry pieces from 25 of today's important designers...this luxurious book provides a great source of inspiration for all jewelry scholars, collectors, and professionals at large for envisioning the future trends of the industry. The quality of the photos is an exceptional asset to that end. [Delphine Leblanc Gemological Institute of America].
    REVIEW
:  A wonderful look at the high-end contemporary jewelers creating pieces today. In contrast to most of the compendium books on contemporary jewelers, this volume focuses on those using top-quality gemstones and metals such as Michelle Ong, Hemmerle, and Wallance Chan, whose dynamic ring is on the cover. These are the potential Cartiers, Fouquets, and Laliques of the future and it is well worth becoming familiar with their work. [Sarah Davis, American Society of Jewelry Historians Newsletter].

    REVIEW
:  Juliet Weir-de La Rochefoucauld who was born into an old family of jewelers has created an AMAZING BOOK on 21st-Century Jewelry Designs - beautifully photographed and with a comprehensive coverage of this fascinating subject.
It is a delight to all who are interested and it is refreshing to see new settings, new models, new designers...as usually we are always shown old gems of imperial families or famous film stars and the superrich over and over again...But this book is FRESH and INSPIRING!
It is simply the best of the 21st century on this subject and it is also stunningly presented! No book has impressed me as much as this in a very long time - be warned it is very heavy! IT COMES IN A SLIP IN COVER - no costs and expense was spared to create a Masterpiece!
Would i recommend this book? YES DEFINITELY! Would i give it as a present? OH YES, have done now many times...and just did it again.

    SHIPPING & RETURNS/REFUNDS
: We always ship books domestically (within the USA) via USPS
    INSURED
media mail (“book rate”). Most international orders cost an additional .99 to .99 for an
    insured
shipment in a heavily padded mailer. However this book is quite heavy, and it is too large to fit into a flat rate mailer. Therefore the shipping costs are somewhat higher than what is otherwise ordinary. There is also a discount program which can cut postage costs by 50% to 75% if you’re buying about half-a-dozen books or more (5 kilos+). Our postage charges are as reasonable as USPS rates allow.
    ADDITIONAL PURCHASES
    do receive a
    VERY LARGE
discount, typically about per book (for each additional book after the first) so as to reward you for the economies of combined shipping/insurance costs.
Your purchase will ordinarily be shipped within 48 hours of payment. We package as well as anyone in the business, with lots of protective padding and containers. All of our shipments are fully insured against loss, and our shipping rates include the cost of this coverage (through stamps.com, Shipsaver.com, the USPS, UPS, or Fed-Ex). International tracking is provided free by the USPS for certain countries, other countries are at additional cost. We do offer U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail, Registered Mail, and Express Mail for both international and domestic shipments, as well United Parcel Service (UPS) and Federal Express (Fed-Ex). Please ask for a rate quotation. We will accept whatever payment method you are most comfortable with.
If upon receipt of the item you are disappointed for any reason whatever, I offer a no questions asked 30-day return policy. Send it back, I will give you a complete refund of the purchase price; 1) less our original shipping/insurance costs, 2) less non-refundable PayPal/eBay payment processing fees. Please note that PayPal does NOT refund fees. Even if you “accidentally” purchase something and then cancel the purchase before it is shipped, PayPal will not refund their fees. So all refunds for any reason, without exception, do not include PayPal/eBay payment processing fees (typically between 3% and 5%) and shipping/insurance costs (if any). If you’re unhappy with PayPal and eBay’s “no fee refund” policy, and we are EXTREMELY unhappy, please voice your displeasure by contacting PayPal and/or eBay. We have no ability to influence, modify or waive PayPal or eBay policies.
    ABOUT US
: Most of the items I offer come from the collection of a family friend who was active in the field of Archaeology for over forty years.  However many of the items also come from purchases I make in Eastern Europe, India, and from the Levant (Eastern Mediterranean/Near East) from various institutions and dealers.  Though I have always had an interest in archaeology, my own academic background was in sociology and cultural anthropology.  After my retirement however, I found myself drawn to archaeology as well.  Aside from my own personal collection, I have made extensive and frequent additions of my own via purchases on Ebay (of course), as well as many purchases from both dealers and institutions throughout the world - but especially in the Near East and in Eastern Europe.  I spend over half of my year out of the United States, and have spent much of my life either in India or Eastern Europe.  In fact much of what we generate on Yahoo, Amazon and Ebay goes to support The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, as well as some other worthy institutions in Europe connected with Anthropology and Archaeology.
I acquire some small but interesting collections overseas from time-to-time, and have as well some duplicate items within my own collection which I occasionally decide to part with.  Though I have a collection of ancient coins numbering in the tens of thousands, my primary interest is in ancient jewelry.  My wife also is an active participant in the "business" of antique and ancient jewelry, and is from Russia.  I would be happy to provide you with a certificate/guarantee of authenticity for any item you purchase from me.  There is a fee for mailing under separate cover.  Whenever I am overseas I have made arrangements for purchases to be shipped out via domestic mail.  If I am in the field, you may have to wait for a week or two for a COA to arrive via international air mail.  But you can be sure your purchase will arrive properly packaged and promptly - even if I am absent.  And when I am in a remote field location with merely a notebook computer, at times I am not able to access my email for a day or two, so be patient, I will always respond to every email.  Please see our
